Luis Osorio

Luis Osorio's route to São Paulo's first team ran through the club's academy trophy cabinet. Signed from Desportivo Brasil, he worked through the youth categories collecting silverware: the Copa do Brasil Sub-20 in both 2024 and 2025, the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior in 2025, and the Dallas Cup Under-19 title in 2024. That run of results made the case for his promotion, and in April 2026 he was moved up to the main squad, making his professional debut in the Copa Sudamericana against Millonarios.

São Paulo moved quickly to protect their investment. In March 2026 the club renewed his contract through February 2030 and fixed a release clause of 100 million euros for clubs from abroad. The clause was tested within months: Udinese had an offer of 10 million euros turned down in July 2026.

He has already left a mark in the Brasileirão, setting up Calleri's equaliser against Flamengo in August 2026. The season has not been without incident: he was reported to the STJD over violent conduct during a match against Palmeiras. Born in Uberaba, Minas Gerais, Osorio has yet to add a senior trophy or a first call-up to the Brazil national team to his record, both still ahead of him.
