Maicol Leon

Maicol León came through Palestino's academy from the age of six, working his way to a first-team debut in 2021 and a first professional contract the following February. He left the club as a free agent in February 2024 and moved to Huachipato. One goal from his Palestino days still stands out: he was on the scoresheet in a 5-0 win over the very club he would later join.

At Huachipato, León was part of the squad that won the Copa Chile in 2025, the first time the club had lifted that trophy. He has also captained Chile's under-20 side, leading the team at the 2023 South American U-20 Championship in Colombia, though the campaign ended with elimination at the group stage. He has collected 15 caps at that level without finding the net. A senior call-up has not yet arrived, but he has trained with the full national squad as a sparring player under coach Martín Lasarte, a sign that the door to the first team is not entirely closed.
