Thiago Nicolás Borbas Silva

Thiago Borbas made his name in Uruguayan football as a scorer, finishing the 2022 Primera División season as the competition's top marksman with 18 goals for River Plate de Montevideo. That tally was enough to take him abroad the following year, when Red Bull Bragantino paid roughly €4.8 million for 55% of his economic rights.

In Brazil he became a regular fixture, making 134 appearances for Bragantino and scoring 27 goals. That output prompted his first move to Europe: in January 2026 he joined Real Oviedo on loan for the remainder of the 2025/26 campaign. The switch did not produce the same returns as in South America — he made 12 appearances for the Spanish club without finding the net.

Oviedo's loan spell proved short-lived. Bragantino recalled him in July 2026 and sent him straight back to Brazil on loan, this time to Atlético Mineiro, in a deal that includes an option to buy roughly 80% of his rights for around $4.25 million.

At international level, Borbas has represented Uruguay twice, both in friendlies in June 2023 — against Nicaragua, where he made his debut, and against Cuba six days later. He has yet to score for the national side.
