Tinga

Coritiba's new right-back arrives with a nickname: born Guilherme de Jesus da Silva in Porto Alegre, he was tagged "Tinga" in Grêmio's academy. Signing for Coritiba in January 2026 on a free transfer brought him back to the state where he started, more than a decade after leaving Grêmio's first team.

The bulk of his career, though, belongs to Fortaleza. Signed permanently in January 2018 after an initial loan spell three years earlier, he stayed until December 2025, made over 350 appearances and became one of the club's fixtures at right-back. He won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B with Fortaleza in 2018, then collected Campeonato Cearense titles in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023, alongside Copa do Nordeste wins in 2019, 2022 and 2024. His form in continental competition was recognised in 2023, when he was named in the Copa Sudamericana Team of the Tournament.

Not every chapter was smooth. In 2022, during that year's Copa Libertadores campaign, Tinga admitted he had played through what he called a practically broken foot. A year later, a red card against Atlético-MG prompted an apology from him, and a further flashpoint came in a heated exchange with Botafogo players.

Before all that, his path ran through loan spells at Boa Esporte and Fortaleza, a Campeonato Cearense title in the latter stint, then Bahia and a loan at Juventude, before he returned to Fortaleza for good. Internationally, his caps came at youth level only, three appearances for Brazil's under-20 side and a place in the squad that took bronze at the 2015 Pan American Games.
