Cergy-Pontoise

The Gothiques d'Amiens play the same role for Cergy-Pontoise that any leading northern side plays for the capital's own contender.

It has won the French Women's Championship eighteen times. The section was inducted into the French Ice Hockey Hall of Fame in 2009 for its part in building the women's game from the ground up, and one of its own, Gwénola Personne, became in 2021 the first woman ever admitted to the Hall of Fame. Another figure from that team, Christine Duchamp, went further still: in 2004 she became the first woman to play in a competitive men's game in France, in Division 1.

The men have taken longer to catch up. They had never held a Ligue Magnus or Coupe de France title, and their route to the top flight came in unusual circumstances: promoted in 2020 after finishing top of Division 1 when the pandemic cut the season short, with a place opened up by the liquidation of Lyon Hockey Club. Jonathan Paredes was behind the bench for that promotion and was named Ligue Magnus Coach of the Year two seasons later.
