HK Detva

Zimný štadión Detva holds 1,800 people. The arena outlasted both attempts.

The badge carries the date 1954, the first year ice hockey was played in the town, but the club it names today has a shorter and more broken history. HC 07 Detva was formed in 2007 after the previous club's licence was moved out to Lučenec: two 1. Liga titles, in 2014–15 and 2016–17, and a 2. Liga championship in its debut season, 2007–08. Dušan Pohorelec, a former national team player, was among those who put the club together, and Branislav Srnka became its all-time leading scorer. In 2021 the licence moved again, this time to Prešov.

HK Detva picked the thread back up in 2022, entering the second-tier 2. hokejová liga from scratch. The new club lost successive promotion finals, to HKM Rimavská Sobota in 2022–23 and to ŠHK 37 Púchov a year later, before winning promotion to the Tipos Slovenská hokejová liga for 2024–25. They finished ninth in that first season back at the higher level. The rivalry with HC Zvolen has carried over from the old club to the new one.

Green and white remain the colours, and the bear on the crest still gives the team its nickname, Bears.
