Nove Zamky

The current club, HC Nové Zámky s.r.o., was set up in the spring of 2011 out of HK Lokomotíva Nové Zámky, itself a name that reaches back to a parent sports organisation founded on 25 August 1965.

The club topped the MOL Liga in 2013/14, then went a level higher, winning the Slovak 1. Liga in 2015/16 by beating HC 46 Bardejov 3:2 in the final — the result that opened the door to the Tipsport Extraliga. Nové Zámky stayed there from 2016 until 2025, when a 12th-place finish sent the Bulls back down to the Slovak 1. Liga.

The nickname comes with the colours, green, white and black, and with an opponent: matches against HK Nitra are billed locally as the county derby. Milan Kužela's name sits in the club's Hall of Fame, a link back to the sides that played under the Lokomotíva and, later, Ice Tigers names before HC Nové Zámky settled as the identity that stuck.

Around 200 children are registered in that youth programme today.
