Kalmar

Bankruptcy ended the first version of the club in 2000, and a new outfit, IF Kalmar Hockey, rose in its place. A year later a separate side, Kalmar Knights IF, formed alongside it, and the two ran in parallel until 2008, when the Knights merged back into IF Kalmar Hockey. Only in 2012 did the club reclaim the name it had carried since 1968, Kalmar HC.

The Knights years still show up in old programmes and shirt collections from that decade. Supporters know the current side as Rödgula, for the red and yellow it wears, and home games are played at Hatstore Arena, which seats 2,650.

Promotion out of Division 3 in 2016 was followed by another step up in 2018, and the club won Hockeyettan Södra in both 2022 and 2023 before finishing second in the Kvalserien and going up to HockeyAllsvenskan. Two numbers hang retired in the arena, Ivar Lundqvist's 2 and Viktor Kovalyonok's 16 . What none of the club's incarnations has managed yet is a national league title or a cup.
