Kometa Brno

The Winning Group Arena seats around 7,700, and it has housed HC Kometa Brno under one name or another since the club left its original ground behind.

Kometa did not start as Kometa. Kometa had already been the crowd's nickname for the team since the 1950s, and in 1994 the club simply made that informal name official.

The championships came late relative to the club's age: 2016–17 and 2017–18 back to back, then a third in 2024–25, alongside a Czech Cup won in 2008 against HC Znojemští Orli. Those two title-winning seasons also carried Kometa to the quarter-finals of the Champions Hockey League, where Frölunda ended the run both times.

Against HC Vítkovice Ridera, the Moravian Derby settles the province's own argument, HC Olomouc's presence in the region notwithstanding.

Martin Nečas wore the Kometa jersey for two seasons, 2016–17 and 2017–18, before Carolina drafted him and, later, Colorado picked him up.
