Hägglunds Arena holds just over 7,000 for hockey, a figure trimmed slightly after a 2021 rebuild added standing areas, and it sits in Örnsköldsvik, a town on Sweden's northern coast.
On the ice, the club has been to the Swedish final six times and won twice. The first, in 1979, came under coach Tommy Sandlin with Mikko Leinonen among the leaders on a team built well before the academy reputation took hold. The second took 28 years to arrive: in 2007, under Harald Lückner and captain Per Svartvadet, MODO beat Linköpings HC for the title. Between those two came four lost finals, in 1994, 1999, 2000 and 2002.
