About

The Pan-American Cup U23 Women is the continental championship for Under-23 national volleyball teams in the Americas. Organised by the Pan American Volleyball Union (UPV), a joint body of NORCECA and CSV, the tournament was founded in 2012. It serves as the premier competition for young players on the continent, distinct from senior championships and regional qualifiers.

The event is held biennially. The standard format features eight teams divided into two groups of four, followed by knockout quarterfinals, semifinals, and a final. While it does not involve promotion or relegation to senior competitions, it functions as a crucial qualifier for the FIVB Volleyball Women's U23 World Championship. The 2020 edition was cancelled due to the pandemic, marking a significant interruption in its history.

Historically, the Dominican Republic dominated the early years of the tournament. They won six titles between 2012 and 2023, establishing themselves as the most successful nation in the competition's initial decade. This streak was broken in 2024 when Cuba won their first title. The Dominican Republic reclaimed the crown in 2025, before the United States secured victory in the 2026 edition.

Current participation includes teams such as Canada, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Nicaragua alongside the traditional powerhouses. The competition remains separate from the Senior Pan American Cup and the NORCECA Championship, focusing specifically on the development of Under-23 talent within the Pan-American region.
