The away side extended their lead after the restart. A. Saini scored in the fifty-sixth minute, and the striker completed a brace in the seventy-eighth minute, heading in to make it 3-0. Brøndby pulled one back late on through a substitute, though the goal came too late to salvage anything from the match. Copenhagen kept a clean sheet for the first time this season, and the run finally came to an end here.
Several changes were made in the second half as both managers looked to shape the final stages. Brøndby brought on C. Buchberg and K. Mortensen for E. Thygesen at the interval, while D. Leskinen was replaced by K. Karlsen in the sixtieth minute. Copenhagen introduced A. Green and F. Benfeldt for the closing period, and S. Sigurvinsdottir picked up a booking in stoppage time.
The result leaves both sides still searching for consistency. Brøndby's recent form has been uneven, with a heavy defeat at Køge BK contrasting with their dominant display against Slavia Prague. Copenhagen, meanwhile, have been exposed at times this season, including a 9-1 defeat to Nordsjælland last week. The table goes out of the window in these games, but both clubs know there is work to do before the next round.
