Kimpo Citizen and Gyeongnam played out a 1-1 draw in the K-League 2 Regular Season on Sunday. L. Mina opened the scoring for the hosts in the third minute before Kim Hyeon-oh levelled for Gyeongnam shortly after half-time. The result leaves Kimpo Citizen eighth with 31 points and Gyeongnam ninth with 30.
Mina's early strike caught Gyeongnam off guard. He finished from close range after a quick move inside the penalty area. The away side responded well, though they struggled to create clear chances. Kim Hyeon-oh pulled them level with a composed finish from a tight angle in the 38th minute.
There were two yellow cards before half-time, one for each side. M. Jeon and Son Ho-Jun received cautions in the 31st and 44th minutes respectively. Gyeongnam made an immediate change at the break, bringing on M. Jeon for the dismissed player.
The match settled into a pattern where Kimpo Citizen controlled possession but Gyeongnam held their shape. The hosts registered 56 attacks compared to 37 for the visitors, while their possession stood at 58 per cent. Kimpo Citizen had three shots on target, Gyeongnam one.
Substitutions came in waves after the hour mark. Lee Chan-hyung entered in the 55th minute, followed by Kwon Gi-Pyo, M. Kim, Cho Sang-Jun and Kim Sung-Joon. Yoon Bo-Sang picked up a booking in the 75th minute before the final whistle approached.
Both sides had two yellow cards by the end. Kimpo Citizen won six corners to Gyeongnam's five, with neither team registering a blocked shot or offside. The draw extended Kimpo Citizen's run of two consecutive draws and halted Gyeongnam's recent momentum.
