Patro Eisden secured a 2-1 victory over Anderlecht II in the opening round of the Challenger Pro League on Saturday. The result moves the home side level on points with their visitors after both clubs began the campaign poorly. Patro Eisden sit 13th with three points while Anderlecht II remain 14th on one point.
P. N'Dao gave the hosts an early lead when he finished inside the first half. Anderlecht II responded with increased pressure but could not find an equaliser before the break. The visitors controlled possession at 62 per cent and registered 102 attacks compared to 54 for the hosts.
After the interval Anderlecht II finally broke through through a spot-kick. Hong Seok-ju converted from the penalty spot in the 78th minute to level the scores. Patro Eisden responded with urgency and found their winner from another penalty spot.
S. Peeters scored from 12 yards out in the 88th minute to complete the turnaround. The match featured four yellow cards for the hosts and two for the visitors. Patro Eisden registered five shots on target from 12 attempts while Anderlecht II managed just three efforts on goal.
The result ends a run of poor form for both sides. Anderlecht II had won their last competitive match against Dordrecht two months ago. Patro Eisden drew their previous two outings before picking up three points here.
