Persib Bandung and Perseaya shared the President's Cup after a 1:1 draw that stretched into extra time on Wednesday. R. Sananta gave Persib the lead in the 20th minute before P. Matricardi equalised for the visitors four minutes later.
The match grew increasingly physical as yellow cards piled up. G. Notsuda, G. Mutombo and Y. Fernandes were booked before half-time, while Sananta picked up another caution in the 66th minute.
Extra time brought a red card when M. Peralta was sent off in the 112th minute. Both sides made several substitutions, but neither could find a winner in normal play.
The shootout proved decisive, though it featured an unusual number of takers. Uilliam, Y. Fernandes and H. Hehanusa missed their spots, while the rest converted. M. Pereira, P. Matricardi, R. Mitrevski, Ramon Tanque, Y. Mabella, K. Rudianto, Ramalho, Julio Cesar, D. Kusnandar, Walber and Gledson all found the net.
Both sides arrived at the final having won all three group games, sitting level on nine points. Persib had beaten Persija Jakarta 2:1 on Tuesday, while Perseaya edged past Port 2:1 in their penultimate outing.
