Amine Harit

Amine Harit was born in Pontoise and came through the Paris Saint-Germain academy before joining FC Nantes in 2012, working his way into the first team in 2016 and scoring once in 30 league appearances. A year later Schalke 04 paid a reported eight million euros for him, and his first season in Gelsenkirchen brought the Bundesliga Rookie of the Year award. He was named the league's Player of the Month in September 2019.

Harit had represented France at youth level, winning the UEFA European Under-19 Championship in 2016 and making the Team of the Tournament, but switched his international allegiance to Morocco in September 2017. He was capped for Morocco at both the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, though injury disrupted his involvement in Qatar. In 2018 he was named the country's Mars d'Or as Moroccan Youth Player of the Year.

Olympique de Marseille took him on loan for two consecutive seasons, 2021-22 and 2022-23, before making the move permanent in November 2022 for around five million euros. Across his two years at the club he made 41 league appearances and scored three goals, and in 2023-24 he finished as the leading assist provider in the Europa League. That form did not prevent a further loan move: in September 2025 he joined İstanbul Başakşehir from Marseille, with the Turkish club holding an option to sign him permanently. He now wears number 25 there.
