Alejo Agustín Macelli

Alejo Macelli's career has been a study in mobility, with his path through Argentine and Uruguayan football rarely staying still for long. The midfielder came through the youth ranks at Paraná, Banfield de San Pedro and Independiente de Avellaneda before Mitre de San Pedro, and it was at Mitre that he made his senior debut in 2019. His first move of note came the following year, when Defensores Unidos de Zárate signed him on a free transfer; he stayed there until the end of 2022, a spell that yielded his one recorded honour, the Primera B Metropolitana title.

From there, the transfers kept coming, each one on a free. Deportivo Merlo took him in at the end of 2022 and kept him for a year, and in February 2024 he crossed the river to sign for Cerro in Uruguay. That stint did not last either: in January 2025 he was on the move again, this time to Venezuela's Monagas SC. The return to Cerro came just six months later, in July 2025, on a permanent free transfer — a homecoming of sorts to the club he had left less than a year earlier.

Macelli plays as a defensive midfielder and favours his right foot. He has not been capped by Argentina at senior or youth level, nor has he represented Uruguay.
