About the player

Aiham Ousou was born in Mölndal, Sweden, and holds dual Swedish and Syrian citizenship. He built his youth career at local Swedish clubs, Angered MBIK and Västra Frölunda IF, before joining BK Häcken in 2018. He never made a senior appearance for Häcken's first team, instead going out on loan to AFC Eskilstuna and then GAIS to gain experience.

He won the Czech Cup with Slavia Prague in the 2022/2023 season. Further loans followed, including a spell in La Liga with Cádiz CF, where he became the first Syrian player to appear in the competition. Internationally, Ousou represented Sweden at U19 and U21 level before switching allegiance to Syria, making his senior debut for the national team in 2024.

Ousou joined Sporting Charleroi on loan in July 2024. A strong loan spell, in which he made 18-19 appearances, convinced the Belgian club to exercise their option to buy, and the move was made permanent in January 2025 on a contract running until 2028. He reached 47 appearances across all competitions and scored twice from centre-back.
