Abdoullahi Tanko

Abdoullahi Tanko's breakthrough season came at FK Varnsdorf in 2022–23, when he finished as the joint second-highest scorer in the Czech National Football League with 15 goals.

At Ostrava he kept knocking on the door of regular selection and answered with numbers: nine goals and an assist in 29 league matches in 2023–24 as the club pushed for European qualification. Across his two Ostrava seasons he scored 10 times in 47 appearances before moving on to Pardubice in January 2025.

In the 2025–26 season he has scored 7 goals and added 6 assists in 30 matches, continuing the scoring form that has followed him through the Czech leagues. Before any of that, Tanko's career started in Portugal with SC Vila Real, and his best spell there came at Gil Vicente, where he scored 8 goals in 27 appearances. Stints at GD Chaves, Valadares Gaia and SC Salgueiros followed without the same output, and it was only after his move to the Czech Republic that his scoring rate became consistent. Across his time in Portugal and the Czech Republic he has passed 120 appearances and around 33 to 35 league goals, numbers built almost entirely on the strength of two purple patches — one at Varnsdorf, the other at Ostrava — either side of a long search for a settled role.
