About the player
Adriano Grimaldi Born in Göttingen and of Italian and Moroccan descent, he began at FC Sachsen Leipzig and passed through 1. FSV Mainz 05's academy, where his 43 appearances and 11 goals for the reserves earned him six Bundesliga outings for the senior side without ever scoring at that level.
His most productive spells came further down the pyramid. At SC Preußen Münster he found his scoring touch, netting 30 goals in 71 appearances over two seasons, and he later delivered 20 goals in 57 games for 1. FC Saarbrücken. A loan at SV Sandhausen in early 2012: the club won the 3. Liga title that season with Grimaldi contributing ten appearances. He also had a productive run at SC Paderborn 07, scoring 18 times in 60 games in the 2. Bundesliga across two seasons before his transfer to 1. FC Nürnberg in September 2025 for a reported fee of €500,000.
At international level his involvement has stayed at youth level, with two caps for Germany's under-19 side in 2010 and no senior call-up since. Now wearing number 39 for Nürnberg, he has made 26 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga this season, scoring once and adding three assists, alongside outings in the DFB-Pokal.
