About the player
Bogdan Vătăjelu has crossed leagues, borders and even continents without ever quite settling for long.
A spell at Metalul Reșița, where he wore the captain's armband, preceded the move that shaped his career: Universitatea Craiova signed him in January 2014, and he helped drive the club back into Romania's top flight, captaining the side along the way.
A move to Universitatea Cluj in 2023 was cut short when the contract was ended by mutual consent, and Vătăjelu then took his career further afield, joining FC Aktobe in Kazakhstan. He started in the final as Aktobe lifted the Kazakhstan Cup in 2024, beating Atyrau 2-0. When his contract there expired at the end of 2025, he returned to Romanian football with FC Bihor Oradea, scoring twice in six league appearances before Sepsi OSK moved for him in June 2026.
At Sfântu Gheorghe he has taken the number 5 shirt and made his first three appearances for the club.
