Cole Bassett

Cole Bassett was not always guaranteed a place among Colorado's promising young players. He was initially turned away from the Colorado Rush academy's U14 side, but kept training and eventually earned a spot. That persistence carried him into the Colorado Rapids academy in 2017, where he progressed through the U-17 and U-19 age groups before signing as a Homegrown player the following August.

Bassett went on to become one of the clearest products of the Rapids' academy pipeline, a group often referred to around the club as the "Rapkids."

In 2022, Bassett tested himself in the Netherlands, joining Feyenoord on loan before moving on to Fortuna Sittard later that year.

What sets Bassett apart on the pitch is his ability to use both feet effectively. Oregon Sports News has noted that this allows him to adjust his body position mid-run to receive passes from either side or strike at goal without needing to shift the ball onto a stronger foot, a trait that shows up in his shot selection, split fairly evenly between his right and left.
