About the player
Douglas James-Taylor made his senior debut for Salford City in the FA Trophy before a move to Stoke City, where he never broke into the first team and was sent out on loan instead, first to Wealdstone and AFC Fylde, then for a full season to Walsall, and he went on to make 26 league appearances in the 2023–24 campaign.
The turning point came with a loan to Drogheda United. He scored 15 goals across all competitions there, finished as the 2024 FAI Cup's top scorer with seven goals, and struck the winning penalty in the final against Derry City. Drogheda's supporters voted him their Player of the Year for 2024. He turned down a new contract and left the club in June 2025.
Bohemians signed him on a free transfer that July on a multi-year deal. James-Taylor said the recommendation of Ross Tierney played a part in his decision to join. He has kept up the scoring form in Dublin, with eight goals from 22 league appearances for the club so far.
