About the player
Casper Kaarsbo Winther, sometimes known by the nickname "Dani", spent his entire career at one club before leaving it this month. He joined Lyngby Boldklub's academy at the age of 11 in 2014, having started out at Brede IF, and made his professional debut for Lyngby on 7 October 2020. From there he grew into the side's captain, a role he held through two promotions to the Danish Superliga, in 2022 and again in 2026.
In the 2025–26 Danish 1st Division campaign he scored eight goals in 24 league matches and was voted Player of the Season by the Danish Players' Union. Across his time at the club he made 129 league appearances and scored 11 goals.
On 2 September 2026 he moved on, signing for Brøndby IF in a deal worth a guaranteed €1.1 million, rising to €1.3 million with bonuses, on a four-year contract running to 30 June 2030. He wears the number 15 shirt there.
Winther has also come through the Danish youth international system, representing the country from U16 level up through U21. His first goal at U21 level came in a friendly against Sweden, a match that finished 2-2, on 17 November 2022.
