Denys Tvardovskyi

At 206 centimetres, Denys Tvardovskyi is built for the goalmouth. Born in Chernivtsi, he began training at the local youth sports school before moving on to FC Bukovyna Chernivtsi, and joined Shakhtar Donetsk's academy in 2017. He worked his way through the club's youth ranks, playing for the under-19 side from the 2020/21 season and featuring in the UEFA Youth League, and was part of the group that won the Ukrainian U19 Championship.

Tvardovskyi was promoted to Shakhtar's senior squad in 2023, though his first-team opportunities have been rare. His official debut came on 19 May 2024 in a 1-1 draw with Dnipro-1, a match he started and played in full, and he added a second appearance six days later against Polissia Zhytomyr. He has picked up further caps in the seasons since, though never as a regular starter, and has not been sent out on loan to gain experience elsewhere.

He was a squad member when Shakhtar won the Ukrainian Premier League title in 2023/24 and again in 2025/26, and collected the Ukrainian Cup with the club in 2023/24 as well. At international level, Tvardovskyi has represented Ukraine at youth level, with three caps for the under-19s since his debut against Malta and a single appearance for the under-21s against Georgia, but has not featured for the senior national side.

His profile has also drawn attention beyond the pitch: Tvardovskyi received an honourable mention in EA FC 26's Team of the Year selection.
