About the player
Geovan Montes made his professional debut with La Equidad in February 2015. Over the following years the right-back turned out for Tigres F.C. across three separate spells, interspersed with stops at Atlético Huila, Águilas Doradas, Itagüí Leones, América de Cali and Deportivo Pasto.
It was at Llaneros FC, from 2023, that Montes found his most settled run. Across two and a half seasons he made 87 appearances and scored nine league goals. In January 2026 he moved abroad for the first time, joining Estudiantes de Mérida in Venezuela's Primera División.
His time at Tigres F.C. tells its own story of persistence: he arrived in 2018, returned in 2020 after a loan spell at Atlético Huila, and came back a third time in 2022 for a season in which he made 25 appearances before leaving for Llaneros. A right-footed defender, Montes has not been capped at senior level by the Colombia national team.
