Gyan Aydin

Gjan Ajdin spent his early career inside FC Basel's academy before making the jump to senior football with FC Lugano. Born in Lund, Sweden, he came through Basel's youth ranks and was part of the side that won the Swiss U19 Elite League, playing across the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 seasons. He also had a brief taste of senior football with FC Basel's second team in the Promotion League and continued his development with the U21 side before his move away from the club.

In March 2026, Ajdin left Basel for Lugano as a free agent, signing a contract that runs until 2030. The move gave him his first sustained exposure to senior football outside the reserve and youth setups he had known in Basel. At international level, he has represented Sweden at U17 and U19 level, reflecting the interest he drew from clubs in his home country during his time in Switzerland.

Ajdin has been used in different positions depending on the team's needs, occasionally appearing as a centre back. Since arriving at Lugano, his senior appearances have remained limited as he continues to settle into the first team.
