About the player
Ihor Kyryukhantsev came through the Shakhtar Donetsk academy, joining as a schoolboy in 2008 and staying in the system until his first professional contract in 2013. He reached the final of the UEFA Youth League with Shakhtar's under-19 side in the 2014–15 season, losing to Chelsea, and made 16 appearances across two campaigns in that competition. He also went through the Ukraine youth setup from under-16 to under-21 level, collecting more than 70 caps and playing at the 2013 UEFA European Under-17 Championship and the 2015 UEFA European Under-19 Championship.
His path into Shakhtar's first team was narrow. He made a single senior league appearance, on 31 May 2017 against Oleksandriya, and was registered with the squad that won the Ukrainian Premier League in 2016–17, though he did not feature in the matches that decided the title. Between 2014 and 2016 he made 53 appearances and scored once for Shakhtar's reserve side in the league.
Games came more regularly away from Donetsk. On loan at Mariupol between 2017 and 2021, he made 72 league appearances and scored three goals across four seasons, before a short loan spell at Oleksandriya yielded ten appearances and a goal. When his Shakhtar contract expired, he signed for Zorya Luhansk in September 2022 and became a regular there, making 52 league appearances and scoring seven goals over three seasons; Zorya's third-place finish in 2022–23 brought him a bronze medal.
Kyryukhantsev joined Epitsentr Dunayivtsi as a free agent in September 2025, with the move announced on 12 September. He has since made 23 appearances for the club in the Ukrainian Premier League.
