Jan Kronig

Jan Kronig came through the BSC Young Boys academy, joining in 2011 after starting out at FC Brig-Glis, and signed his first professional contract with the club in June 2018. He was part of the Young Boys squad that won the Swiss Super League in 2018–19, though his own involvement was limited to two senior appearances that season. Young Boys then sent him out on loan twice to build up first-team experience, first to FC Schaffhausen and then to FC Wil, where he made 34 appearances.

A permanent move to FC Aarau followed in June 2021, and it was there that Kronig became a regular, making 73 appearances and scoring twice over two and a half seasons. In January 2024 he joined FC Sion on a free transfer, signing an initial contract to 2027. He has since established himself at the club, passing 60 appearances by May 2026, and in June 2026 Sion rewarded him with a contract extension to 2030.

At youth international level, Kronig worked his way up through Switzerland's age groups from the U16s to the U21s, collecting 13 caps and a goal at the latter. He was a key member of the Swiss U21 side at the 2023 European Under-21 Championship in Georgia and Romania, featuring in the group games against France, Italy and Norway. He has not yet been capped by the senior national team.
