Joaquín Oscar Larrivey

Joaquín Larrivey scored 24 goals to earn the Best Player award of the Liga de Ascenso, leading Deportes Concepción to promotion from the Chilean Primera B in his second spell at the club. He wears the number 32 shirt for the side.

Born in Gualeguay, the forward began his career at Huracán, making his professional debut there in 2004. Three years later he moved to Cagliari, a transfer that took him into Italian football, interrupted by loans to Vélez Sarsfield, with whom he won the Argentine Primera División Clausura title, and to Colón. At Cagliari he scored a hat-trick in the Coppa Italia in 2011, becoming only the second player in the club's history to do so, after Gigi Riva.

From there his path ran through Atlante, Rayo Vallecano and Celta Vigo, before a move to Baniyas took him to the United Arab Emirates. He later played in Japan with JEF United Chiba, then in Paraguay with Cerro Porteño. His spell at Universidad de Chile stands out: he became the club's second-highest all-time scorer. Spells in Italy with Cosenza and Südtirol followed, then a move to Magallanes in 2023.

Larrivey has never played for the Argentina national team. Asked about it in an interview in 2025, he said he had never dreamed of a call-up, given the number of strikers Argentina has produced. His return to Concepción in 2025 has instead given him one of the defining seasons of his career, on the back of which the club went up.
