About the player
Mitrović had come on as a substitute against Finland on 2 September 2021, and he left the pitch with a red card.
He came through at HNK Cibalia, where he stayed until 2016, before joining HNK Rijeka and making his senior debut there in September 2018. The 2019–20 season was spent on loan at NK Inter Zaprešić: 30 appearances and four goals .
Fortuna Sittard took him to the Eredivisie in July 2024 for €500,000 , with Gorica keeping a quarter of any future transfer fee. The Dutch spell ran to 28 appearances and two goals across a single season.
He came back to Croatia in July 2025, joining NK Slaven Belupo on a free transfer and signing a contract that runs until 2027.
