Jonathan Cristian Silva

Jonathan Silva grew up in the youth system of Estudiantes de La Plata, the club of his home city, and made his professional debut there in June 2012. Two years later Sporting CP paid €2.6 million for him. At Sporting he won the Taça de Portugal in 2014/15 and the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira the following year, and a loan spell took him to Boca Juniors, where he collected an Argentine Primera División title in 2016/17.

Roma took him on loan in January 2018 with an obligation to buy worth €5.7 million, but the move did not work out as a permanent switch, and by the summer he had gone to Leganés instead, first on loan and then in a permanent deal the following year for around €2.7–3 million.

In August 2024, Silva joined Pafos on a season-long loan from Getafe, taking the number 19 shirt, and helped the Cypriot side win the First Division title. He moved on again in 2025, signing for Johor Darul Ta'zim as a free agent and switching to squad number 33. He has also worn the Argentina shirt at senior level, earning two caps after his debut against Croatia in November 2014, having previously represented the country at Under-17 level, where he scored at the 2011 World Cup for the age group.
