About the player
Kenan Haroun was born in Brussels and joined KRC Genk's talent academy after coming through PSV Eindhoven's youth ranks. Holding both Belgian and Turkish citizenship, the midfielder has since worked his way into the club's structure, playing for Jong Genk in the Challenger Pro League while also being integrated into first-team plans.
Interest from Turkey has followed his progress at Genk, with reports linking him to Trabzonspor and Fenerbahçe and suggesting the Belgian club would demand a fee in excess of €10 million to let him go. Genk have so far held firm, and no transfer has materialised.
A right-footed central midfielder standing 185 centimetres tall, Haroun wears the number 86 shirt at Genk. He has yet to earn a senior or youth call-up for Belgium.
