About the player
The first senior contract of Lovre Banovec's career took him away from the club that raised him. He came through the youth ranks at NK Osijek , but in July 2021 it was NK Inter Zaprešić who gave him his first professional deal, and he stayed there for a single season, until June 2022.
From there he joined NK Varaždin in July 2022. The spell was interrupted in January 2024, when he was sent to NK Sesvete on loan for the second half of the season. He went back to Varaždin in July 2024, and left again in the same month — this time permanently, to NK Sesvete . Sesvete kept him through to June 2025.
In July 2025 he signed for NK Vukovar '91 on a free transfer. That has been the pattern of his career since leaving Zaprešić: every move between Varaždin, Sesvete and Vukovar came as a loan or a free, with no fee ever disclosed.
