About the player
Luke McCowan's route to Celtic began far from the top flight, with youth spells at East End United and Ayr United that included junior loans at Lugar Boswell Thistle and Annbank United before he turned professional. He signed his first contract with Ayr United in 2017 and spent four seasons there before a free transfer to Dundee in June 2021. That form persuaded Celtic to pay a reported fee of around £1 million for him in August 2024. He followed it with another full campaign in 2025–26, making 42 appearances and scoring four goals as Celtic retained the league title and added the Scottish Cup. McCowan remains uncapped by Scotland at senior level.
