About the player
Lucas Silva's first senior goal for FC Luzern also settled the match: on his debut for the club, the Portuguese midfielder scored the winner against Grasshopper Club Zurich. It was the kind of start that gets noticed, and the numbers that followed backed it up — four goals in seven appearances in the Swiss Super League through the early part of the 2025/2026 season, a run that had him described in the Swiss press as a "shooting star" of the campaign.
Born in Vila Real, Silva came up entirely through Luzern's own age groups. He now wears the number 10 shirt. The rapid rise has already drawn interest from England, with West Ham United and Middlesbrough both credited with tracking him.
Internationally, Silva has represented Portugal at under-20 level, winning two caps since his debut in September 2025. FC Luzern, for their part, have moved to tie him down with a new contract as his form has continued to attract outside attention.
