About the player
Rúben Dantas Fernandes came through the FC Luzern academy after starting out at SC Kriens, and made his senior debut for Luzern against FC Sion in the Swiss Super League. He was recalled from that loan during the winter break to return to Luzern.
Back at Luzern, the left-back built on that experience with ten Super League appearances in the second half of the 2024/25 season, then established himself further with twenty league outings and two Swiss Cup appearances the following campaign. The club has tied him down with a contract running to 2029.
Dantas Fernandes has also come through the Swiss youth international set-up, capped at both under-17 and under-19 level, scoring three goals in seven appearances for the under-17s. Away from international duty, he was part of the Luzern under-21 side that won promotion out of the Swiss Promotion League in the 2022–23 season.
