About the player
Lars Ritzka came through the youth system at Hannover 96, having started out at TSV Limmer in his home city, and made his senior debut for the reserve side in 2017. Over two seasons with Hannover 96 II he made 54 appearances and scored three goals, a run that earned him a free move to SC Verl in June 2019. That switch paid off quickly: Verl won the Regionalliga West in 2019–20, and Ritzka helped the club go up to the 3. Liga via the promotion playoff in 2021, having made 58 appearances and scored three goals across his two years there.
Another free transfer took him to FC St. Pauli in June 2021, and it is there that his career has taken off. Ritzka has made more than 91 league appearances for the club, scoring three goals. The high point came in 2023–24, when St. Pauli won the 2. Bundesliga title and went up to the Bundesliga, with Ritzka a key member of that squad.
He has not been capped at senior international level for Germany.
