About the player
Liam Roberts came through Walsall's academy, staying with the club until 2012, and spent time away on loan at Romulus, Rushall Olympic, Rainworth Miners Welfare, Southport, Gresley and Rugby Town before returning to sign senior terms in July 2014. He had to wait until February 2016 for his first-team debut for Walsall.
A move to Northampton Town followed in June 2021, and a year later he joined Middlesbrough as a free agent. His time at the Riverside included a loan spell at Barnsley during the 2023–24 season, before he signed for Millwall as a free agent in July 2024. That contract ran until the end of June 2025, and shortly before it expired, on 11 June 2025, Roberts agreed to join Mansfield Town on a free transfer for the 2025–26 season.
