M. Vilakazi

Mfundo Vilakazi came through Kaizer Chiefs' youth ranks after starting out at Doornkop Students and Zola Seven Stars, with a brief three-week spell at Bidvest Wits along the way. He joined the Chiefs academy and worked his way through the DStv Diski Challenge reserve side before his promotion to the senior squad in January 2024, a move that came without a transfer fee as a product of the club's own system. A senior contract followed in April 2024, tying him to the club until June 2028.

His breakthrough season arrived with the Nedbank Cup triumph in 2024–25, a result that ended Kaizer Chiefs' nine-year wait for a trophy. The left-footed midfielder, who wears number 28, has yet to earn a senior cap for Bafana Bafana, but he has established himself as a regular for the South Africa under-20 side, known as Amajita, with nine caps and a goal to his name. He started all four of the Amajita's matches at the 2025 U-20 FIFA World Cup in Chile, scoring against Colombia in the round of 16, and was part of the squad that went on to win the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.

Born in Vaal, Vilakazi stands 165 cm tall and operates as a midfielder or winger.
