About the player

Mamadou Diallo's formative years came at Senegal's Diambars Academy, where he progressed through the ranks into the senior side, Diambars FC. It was with the Senegal under-17 side that he made his name: an undisputed starter at centre-back, he led a defence that conceded just three goals throughout the 2023 Africa U17 Cup of Nations, a tournament Senegal went on to win. He carried that form into the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Indonesia, starting against Argentina and Poland before Senegal's run ended against France in the round of 16.

In June 2025 Diallo signed for KAA Gent, agreeing a contract until 2028 with a further one-year option. The move from Diambars FC to Belgium came for an undisclosed fee. Rather than going straight into Gent's first team, he was assigned to the reserve side, Jong KAA Gent, where he made his debut in the Challenger Pro League in the 2025/26 season.
