Marko Sapuga

Marko Sapuga came through the youth ranks at UFK-Karpaty in Lviv, where he trained from 2011 to 2020 under coach Oleh Rodin, appearing 84 times and scoring 25 goals at that level, with a spell on loan in the Ukrainian youth league system at Nyva-Rassvet of Vinnytsia along the way.

He began his senior career at Rukh Lviv in 2020, spending six years with the club before Karpaty signed him. Rukh named him captain before his departure, a mark of the standing he had built there. His switch to Karpaty, where he took the number 20 shirt, has drawn some attention for its timing, though the club he left and the one he joined share the same city.

Sapuga has already featured for Ukraine at youth level, with three caps and a goal for the under-19s and two further appearances for the under-21 side, both in 2022.

At Karpaty he is still finding his way into the side, with a single official appearance registered so far. A right-footed midfielder standing 194cm tall, he offers a physical profile the club will look to make use of as he settles in.
