Mes Appink

Mees Eppink's path to Dutch football ran through Hangzhou and Oman. He started out at Sinobal FC before a move to the Middle East took him to Arsenal Academy Oman and Muscat Football Academy. His form there caught the eye of scouts in Europe. Rather than staying, he went back to Muscat Football Academy for a further three years before joining FC Utrecht's academy in 2021.

Utrecht rewarded that development with a professional contract when Eppink was just 16, one of the youngest players to sign terms with the club. That deal was extended earlier this year, running through to 2029. He made his competitive debut for Jong Utrecht against Jong PSV in May 2025, and has since built up around nineteen appearances for the reserves in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie.

Eppink is played as a sweeper-keeper, comfortable with the ball at his feet, and has posted a 62% pass completion rate. He has drawn strong individual ratings for his performances, including an 8.2 in a 3-0 win over FC Eindhoven and an 8.1 in a 2-0 victory against Jong Ajax. He has also started appearing on FC Utrecht's first-team bench in the Eredivisie, though he is still waiting for his senior competitive debut.

At international level, Eppink has represented the Netherlands U18s, earning a cap in a friendly against the Czech Republic U18s in Spain, where he played the full 90 minutes. He was later called into the preliminary U19 squad for friendlies against Azerbaijan and Scotland.
