Nery Veloso

Nery Veloso's name is tied above all to a single afternoon: the 2012 Clausura final with Huachipato, when he saved four penalties to help the club to the title, a performance that still stands as the high point of his career. It came after he had already been named the ANFP's Best Goalkeeper of the Chilean Primera División in 2008.

That future took him through loan spells at Colo-Colo, Unión San Felipe and Audax Italiano before he returned to Huachipato, then moved on to Unión Española. At Santiago Wanderers he added the Copa Chile in 2017, and at San Marcos de Arica he won the Segunda División title in 2019.

Veloso's international career amounts to a single appearance: one cap for the Chile national team on 4 November 2009, in a 2-1 friendly win over Paraguay. He had already tasted international football at youth level as backup goalkeeper for the Chile under-20 side that finished third at the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

The years since have taken him from club to club — Palestino, Fernández Vial, San Antonio Unido and San Luis de Quillota among them — before his move to Deportes Concepción in January 2026.
