About the player
In January 2024 he joined SV Stripfing as a cooperation player, and by the time the arrangement ended he had made 36 appearances in all competitions and scored six goals. He came back to Austria Wien for the 2024/25 season with that behind him.
The club responded quickly. On 6 July 2024 Šaljić signed a professional contract with the first team, initially running until 2028; in January 2026 Austria Wien extended it to 2030. He had been on their books since a perspective contract in 2022, and the pathway before that ran through SV Schwechat, where he started in 2011, and Admira Wacker, whom he joined in 2014 before moving to the Austria Wien academy in 2018.
He was handed his senior debut in 2024. By the middle of 2026 he had 25 appearances and one goal for the first team, a return built alongside a much heavier workload for the second string: 53 appearances and four goals for Austria Wien II.
Šaljić has never cost a fee — every transfer of his career, including the Stripfing spell and the return, has been free.
