About the player
Tim Philipp came through Hoffenheim's academy the long way round, arriving in 2020 from FC Esslingen after starting out at SKV Rutesheim and SGV Freiberg. He worked his way through the club's U17 and U19 sides, and it was with the U19 team that he collected his first senior honours, winning the Deutscher A-Junioren-Meister and the Deutscher A-Junioren-Pokalsieger. Both titles came before he had played a single competitive minute in senior football.
The step up came in July 2024, when he was promoted to Hoffenheim II for the Regionalliga Südwest campaign. That side went on to win the division and earn promotion to the 3. Liga, though Philipp's own path to the pitch took longer: he was named among the substitutes for the first team in Bundesliga and Europa League matches throughout the 2024/25 season without being called upon. His competitive debut finally arrived on 22 February 2026, in the 3. Liga against Viktoria Köln.
Philipp has represented Germany at U17 and U19 level, reflecting the recognition he earned during his run of youth trophies at Hoffenheim, though he has yet to add a senior cap. His contract at the club runs to 2027.
