Uran Bislimi

Uran Bislimi came through FC Concordia Basel before moving into the FC Basel 1893 academy, where he progressed through the U18 and U21 sides. His breakthrough into senior football came in July 2019, when he joined FC Schaffhausen on a free transfer from Basel's U21 team. Over three seasons there he made 86 league appearances and scored six goals, and was part of the side that won promotion to the Swiss Super League in 2021–22.

That promotion preceded his move to FC Lugano in July 2022, a transfer reported without a significant fee attached. He has made 129 league appearances and scored 16 goals for the club. In 2024 he extended his contract with Lugano through to 2027.

Bislimi's international story took an unusual path. He first represented Switzerland at U19 level, but at senior international level he initially chose Kosovo, making his debut against Armenia in November 2022 and scoring against the Faroe Islands days later in what turned out to be his only goal in two caps for the country. In March 2023 he switched his allegiance back to Switzerland, making his senior debut for the Swiss national team that June in a Euro 2024 qualifier against Romania. He was named in Switzerland's squad during the Euro 2024 qualifying campaign, though he did not feature at the tournament itself.
