Walter Angello Tandazo Silva

In 2018 Walter Tandazo turned down the professional contract Alianza Lima put in front of him, and he declined to sign. He had come up through the Alianza youth teams until that point. In February 2019 he joined FBC Melgar as a free agent; no fee was recorded, because there was no contract to buy out.

He debuted on 23 February 2019 against Ayacucho. By the end of 2025 he had passed 200 appearances for Melgar in all competitions. In those league matches he has scored once. The goal came on 17 July 2023, against Deportivo Municipal . In 2022 he was part of the Melgar squad that won the Torneo Apertura.

He was hurt in a Copa Sudamericana match against Cuiabá in 2022 and was out for about a month, missing seven games. In May 2026 a foul by Martín Peralta left him with a blow to the kneecap, and he sat out the final fixture of the Apertura.

Peru named him in the senior squad in November 2023 for the World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Venezuela. He did not come on, but did not concede either. His most recent extension at Melgar was signed in November 2024, covering the 2025 season.
