Yannick Kappel

Yannick Cappelle came through the youth system at his local club in Ath before joining KAA Gent's academy in 2019. That same year he moved on again, this time to Zulte Waregem, arriving as a free agent to join the club's youth setup.

His path to the first team ran through the reserves. Cappelle spent the 2022–2023 season with Jong Zulte Waregem in the Second Amateur Division, making 58 appearances and scoring twice — a feat that preceded his promotion to the senior squad in 2023. He signed his first professional contract on the back of that, initially running to 2026 before the club extended it to 2028. He made his first-team debut on 31 October 2023, in the Belgian Cup.

A left-footed defender who operates primarily at left-back, Cappelle has gone on to make 52 appearances for Zulte Waregem's first team, scoring twice.

At international level, he was capped three times by Belgium's under-17 side in 2020, without scoring, playing in all three matches as part of the Belgian squad at the Development Cup in Belarus.
