About the player
Yevhen Maiakov's rise has been quick: the club listed in some databases as his side, Hirnyk, has never actually fielded him — the mix-up traces back to Kryvbas playing its home matches at the Hirnyk Stadium in Kryvyi Rih. He came through Temp Ternivka before moving on to DVUFK Dnipro in 2021, spending two of those seasons also turning out at amateur level in Poland. That stint abroad ended in 2024, when he signed for Kryvbas and was placed straight into the under-19 side.
His first-team debut came in the Ukrainian Premier League on 14 March 2026, against Polissya Zhytomyr, and he has kept his place in the squad into the following campaign.
International recognition has followed a similar curve. Maiakov earned his first call-up to Ukraine's under-19 side and made his debut for the age group on 3 September 2025 against England U19, going on to collect three caps that year. At 186cm, he plays as a central defender.
